Windows 8.1 isn't terrible with a Start Menu replacement, but the computer just wasn't running right.Īfter two weeks of 8.1, I was finally willing to step to 10. You can't do that in a single shot and keep your apps and data you have to go 7 to 8, then 8 to 8.1. With these in mind, along with the impending demise of Windows 7, I decided to upgrade to 8.1. We use Windows Enterprise editions in house, so all versions below are Enterprise builds.įorced updates 2x/year that break far too often, make the computer unusable, reset the system to installing inappropriate drivers, and kill compatibility with legacy software for no good reason with no warning, documentation, or work-arounds? NO! It's been deployed on a few computers for testing purposes, but haven't gone much further. I've been a hold-out on Windows 10 for a long time. Let me preface this by saying that I don't like change for no apparent reason. ![]()
